CERTIFICATE IN ACIT MASTERCLASS SERIES
Afrikan-Centred Intercultural Therapy™ (ACIT) is:
- An integration of Afrikan-centred principles, philosophy and humility focused thinking with various psychological schools of thought through a trauma informed lens.
- A personal and professional developmental skill, aimed to influence and adapt cultural-ethnic-racial mentalities and develop trauma informed cultural empathy, for healing, resilience and post traumatic growth.
The contextual position of this training is focused on mentality; how it has and still disrupts the well-being of communities and with an open mind and intercultural consciousness, mentality shifts can contribute towards generational change and healing.
We believe that the way one identifies self, communicates with others and contributes towards community engagement enhances this process. Our training courses also aim to complement previous core counselling training
ACIT training is aimed at mental health and psychological practitioners, helping professionals, case workers and social care workers.
The course explores:
- CERS (Culture, Ethnicity, Race, Spirituality) focused intercultural perspectives
- The challenge of intersectional identities
- Racial and generational trauma
- Ubuntu inspired Afrikan-Centred principalities and spirituality in therapeutic practice
- Healing, resilience and post-traumatic growth
