We accept self referrals and third party referrals for individual trauma therapy, couples counselling / relationship therapy and clinical supervision. Please click here for more information on our couples counselling / relationship therapy services. You can find out more about clinical supervision by clicking here.
Upon making contact for therapy or supervision, you will be booked in for an initial assessment/consultation at the earliest mutually available date and time.
If the service has been recommended to you by another individual, community organisation, or someone has contacted us on your behalf, we still need to have direct contact with you to book and confirm an initial assessment.
The initial assessment is an opportunity for us to get a brief overview of your history, therapeutic or clinical needs, and establish suitability to the service. You can also ask any further questions you might have about the service.
Following your initial assessment for therapy, you will be allocated to an appropriate Aya Training & Development associate therapist.
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are currently online via Zoom or face-to-face. To manage the demand of a rolling waiting list, we offer medium-long term Intercultural therapy (up to 36 sessions). This may be extended upon mutual agreement.
We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy.
Cancellations are chargeable at the full rate if cancelled within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment.
There is no charge if you cancel your session with more then 48 hours notice.
Therapy is offered on the basis that you can commit to attending weekly sessions on the same day at the same time.
Therapy Fees:
- Weekly Psychotherapy £50-£70
- Counselling students £60
Clinical Supervision Fees:
- £60 for counselling students
- £75 for qualified practitioners (60 minutes)

All payments are accepted via BACS/Bank Transfer payable weekly or in blocks of 4. Payment details will be provided when you are scheduled for an initial assessment

Talking to a therapist can help you understand your feelings, thought patterns and behaviours. This leads to a better understanding of yourself and enables a process of healing that renews the mind.
For more information on some of the approaches we use please click here.
Everyone has different needs and heals at different rates. During the consultation your needs will be assessed and you will receive a recommendation.
Regular reviews will take place during your therapy and less or more time will be agreed accordingly.
To manage the demands of a rolling waiting list we currently offer up to 36 sessions (9 months). This may be extended upon mutual agreement.
If you change your mind at any point, please communicate any concerns so that adjustments to your therapy or further recommendations can be given to you. We value your feedback and will do our best to work with you on your journey.
We also understand that having the right type of therapy and timing is very important; sometimes despite all good intentions, it's just not the right time or the right fit.
